The Credit Union National Association will hold its annual Governmental Affairs Conference in-person Feb. 27-March 3, 2022 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
GAC was an entirely virtual event in 2021.
“Our most recent CUNA GAC proved that we can adapt well to the digital environment, but the true power behind the GAC has always been all of us—CUNA, leagues, credit unions, and system supporters—coming together,” said CUNA Chief Products and Services Officer Todd Spiczenski. “The pandemic has changed the meetings and events landscape considerably. Our job is to adapt and to create an unforgettable experience that strives to keep everyone safe.”
NCUA President/CEO Jim Nussle stressed the importance of the conference to the credit union industry. “It is the one time each year when we come together to advocate, learn, and network in meaningful ways,” he said.
Spiczenski said that as CUNA officials continue to plan the conference, they will monitor federal and Washington, D.C. health guidelines for COVID-19.
He added that CUNA will “have the ability to pivot” if health restrictions are imposed and that people who reserve hotel rooms for the conference normally can cancel those reservations up to three weeks before the conference.
Spiczenski said that portions of the conference will be live-streamed.
